Our Union brothers and sisters in Texas and the gulf coast region are being confronted by the effects of a devastating storm and incredible flooding due to Hurricane Harvey. The National Office is in close communication with Local Union leaders and USPS Headquarters officials.
The Texas AFL-CIO, and the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation are setting up command centers and plan to reach out to union members and their families in affected areas to check on their safety and inform them of resources available for assistance.

At the February 2017 PERF Executive Committee meeting a motion passed to increase the application deadline time from 120 days to 6 months:
Applications for grants from PERF must be received no later than 6 months from the date that the natural disaster or house fire occurred, unless the applicant can provide sufficient reason(s) why they were unable to complete and submit their application prior to this deadline.
